We collect information you provide directly: email address and password (hashed, never stored in plaintext) when you create an account; display name if provided; portfolio data and positions you enter. We also collect usage data automatically: pages visited, search queries, error events (via Sentry), and browser/device information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to: operate and maintain the Service; authenticate your account and secure your session; store and retrieve your portfolio and screener preferences; diagnose technical errors and improve the Service; and communicate service-related updates. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Cookies and Local Storage
We use session cookies and JWTs to maintain your authenticated session. We use browser localStorage to store UI preferences (theme, dismissed notices) and your account session. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services: Sentry (error monitoring — may receive error events including page URLs and stack traces); financial data providers (FMP, FRED) for market data; AI providers for news classification (article text sent for classification, not linked to your account). None of these services receive your email address or personal information unless explicitly stated.
5. Data Retention
Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. Portfolio and screener data is retained indefinitely unless you delete it. You may request account deletion by contacting us through the platform.
6. Security
We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your data: bcrypt password hashing, HTTPS-only transport, JWT-based authentication. No system is completely secure; use a strong, unique password for your account.
7. Your Rights
You may access, update, or delete your account information through the Profile page. If you wish to request full data deletion, contact us through the platform.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
